(a) An organization for emergency management established under this chapter may not:\n(1) participate in any form of political activity; or\n(2) be employed directly or indirectly for political purposes.\n(b) Political qualifications may not be:\n(1) a consideration for appointment to the agency; or\n(2) a cause for dismissal;\nexcept as provided in section 27 of this chapter.
