(a) \"Advanced life support\", for purposes of IC 16-31, means care that is given:\n(1) at the scene of:\n(A) an accident;\n(B) an act of terrorism (as defined in IC 35-31.5-2-329), if the governor has declared a disaster emergency under IC 10-14-3-12 in response to the act of terrorism; or\n(C) an illness;\n(2) during transport; or\n(3) at a hospital;\nby a paramedic or an advanced emergency medical technician and that is more advanced than the care usually provided by an emergency medical technician.\n(b) The term may include any of the following:\n(1) Advanced cardiac life support.\n(2) Endotracheal intubation.\n(3) Parenteral injections of appropriate medications.\n(4) Electrocardiogram interpretation.\n(5) Emergency management of trauma and illness.","path":["TITLE 16.
