(a) In order to serve as the local health officer, an individual must:\n(1) be a physician licensed under IC 25-22.5; or\n(2) have at least:\n(A) a master's degree in public health; and\n(B) five (5) years of experience in public health;\nand be approved in accordance with IC 16-20-2-16.\n(b) Beginning July 1, 2023, any individual listed in subsection (a) who is newly appointed to the position of a local health officer shall complete a public health foundation training course developed and approved by the state department.","path":["TITLE 16.
