(a) Except as provided in section 1 of this chapter, an individual may not work as a qualified medication aide unless the individual has:\n(1) satisfactorily completed an approved qualified medication aide training and competency evaluation program; and\n(2) passed the qualified medication aide competency examination.\n(b) An individual must meet the following requirements in order to participate in an approved qualified medication aide training and competency evaluation program:\n(1) Provide proof that the individual has received a high school diploma or a high school equivalency certificate.\n(2) Be at least eighteen (18) years of age.\n(3) Provide proof of certification as a nurse aide in good standing.\n(4) Have either:\n(A) completed at least one thousand (1,000) hours of documented work experience as a nurse aide; or\n(B) requested and been granted by the commission a waiver of the hours required in clause (A) for a reduced work requirement.","path":["TITLE 16.
