A physician who diagnoses a pregnancy of a woman shall take or cause to be taken a sample of blood:\n(1) at the time of diagnosis of pregnancy; and\n(2) during the third trimester of pregnancy, if the woman belongs to a high risk population for which the Centers for Disease Control “Sexually Transmitted Diseases Treatment Guidelines\" recommend a third trimester syphilis testing;\nand shall submit each sample to an approved laboratory for a standard serological test for syphilis.","path":["TITLE 16.
