(a) Notwithstanding any other law, the board may designate a committee of the board, which may consist of employees or officers of the board, to open or tabulate bids at a date, time, and place fixed by advertisement for:\n(1) the purchase of:\n(A) supplies;\n(B) material;\n(C) equipment; or\n(D) land;\n(2) the building, enlargement, or alteration of any school building; or\n(3) any other purpose.\n(b) The committee of the board shall open and tabulate each bid that is presented to the committee. The bids shall be:\n(1) read and tabulated publicly;\n(2) immediately entered in the record of the board; and\n(3) reported to the board at the board's next meeting.\n(c) A bid shall be accepted or rejected by the committee of the board under this section.
