(a) The department shall revise and update academic standards:\n(1) for each grade level from kindergarten through grade 12; and\n(2) in each subject area listed in section 2 of this chapter;\nat least once every six (6) years. This revision must occur on a cyclical basis.\n(b) The department, in revising and updating academic standards under subsection (a), shall do the following:\n(1) Consider the skills, knowledge, and practices:\n(A) that are necessary to understand and utilize emerging technologies; and\n(B) that may be rendered obsolete by emerging technologies.\n(2) Consider for removal any academic standards that may be obsolete as a result of emerging technologies.\n(3) Provide support to school corporations regarding the implementation of revised and updated academic standards that have an emerging technologies component.\n(4) Consider integrating computer science standards into a subject area being revised.\n(5) Consider integrating data literacy and data science standards into a subject area being revised.","path":["TITLE 20.
