(a) The following may not adopt rules requiring the installation of an arc-fault circuit interrupter (AFCI) in a Class 2 structure or a structure classified as an R-2 building occupancy classification under the Indiana building code constructed after June 30, 2026:\n(1) The commission.\n(2) Another state agency.\n(b) A political subdivision may not adopt an ordinance or other regulation requiring the installation of an arc-fault circuit interrupter (AFCI) in a Class 2 structure or a structure classified as an R-2 building occupancy classification under the Indiana building code constructed after June 30, 2026.\n(c) A ordinance or other regulation adopted before July 1, 2026, is void to the extent the ordinance or regulation conflicts with this section.","path":["TITLE 22.
