(a) This section does not apply to:\n(1) an activity specifically authorized by:\n(A) IC 4-29 or IC 4-29.5 (tribal gaming and tribal-state compact);\n(B) IC 4-31 (pari-mutuel wagering on horse races);\n(C) IC 4-33 (riverboat gambling);\n(D) IC 4-35 (gambling games at racetracks); or\n(E) IC 4-38 (sports wagering);\n(2) the purchase of a tangible lottery ticket for a lottery game from:\n(A) a retailer authorized to sell lottery tickets under IC 4-30-9; or\n(B) the commission; or\n(3) a free:\n(A) interactive game; or\n(B) promotional game;\noffered by the commission.\n(b) Unless specifically granted authority by a statute passed by the general assembly, the commission and Indiana gaming commission shall not, independently or by public-private partnership, operate or authorize the use or operation of the following:\n(1) A lottery game operated through a video lottery terminal.\n(2) A video gaming terminal.\n(3) A lottery courier service.\n(4) The sale of digital representations of:\n(A) casino-style games, including:\n(i) poker;\n(ii) roulette;\n(iii) slot machines; or\n(iv) blackjack;\nover the Internet;\n(B) scratch-off games; or\n(C) draw games.","path":["TITLE 4.
