(a) This section applies only to contributions made after June 30, 1996.\n(b) The definitions in IC 3-5-2.1 apply to this section to the extent they do not conflict with the definitions in this article.\n(c) As used in this section, \"candidate\" refers to any of the following:\n(1) A candidate for a state office.\n(2) A candidate for a legislative office.\n(3) A candidate for a local office.\n(d) As used in this section, \"committee\" refers to any of the following:\n(1) A candidate's committee.\n(2) A regular party committee.\n(3) A committee organized by a legislative caucus of the house of the general assembly.\n(4) A committee organized by a legislative caucus of the senate of the general assembly.\n(e) As used in this section, \"license\" means:\n(1) an owner's license issued under this article;\n(2) a supplier's license issued under this article to a supplier of gaming supplies or equipment, including electronic gaming equipment; or\n(3) an operating agent contract issued under this article.\n(f) As used in this section, \"licensee\" means a person who holds a license. The term includes an operating agent.\n(g) As used in this section, \"officer\" refers only to either of the following:\n(1) An individual listed as an officer of a corporation in the corporation's most recent annual report.\n(2) An individual who is a successor to an individual described in subdivision (1).\n(h) For purposes of this section, a person is considered to have an interest in a licensee if the person satisfies any of the following:\n(1) The person holds at least a one percent (1%) interest in the licensee.\n(2) The person is an officer of the licensee.\n(3) The person is an officer of a person that holds at least a one percent (1%) interest in the licensee.\n(4) The person is a political action committee of the licensee.\n(i) A licensee is considered to have made a contribution if a contribution is made by a person who has an interest in the licensee.\n(j) A licensee or a person who has an interest in a licensee may not make a contribution to a candidate or a committee during the following periods:\n(1) The term during which the licensee holds a license.\n(2) The three (3) years following the final expiration or termination of the licensee's license.\n(k) A person who knowingly or intentionally violates this section commits a Level 6 felony.","path":["TITLE 4.
