(a) As used in this section, \"rostered volunteer\" means a volunteer:\n(1) whose name has been entered on a roster of volunteers for a volunteer program operated by a local unit; and\n(2) who has been approved by the proper authorities of the local unit.\nThe term does not include a volunteer firefighter (as defined in IC 36-8-12-2) or an inmate assigned to a correctional facility operated by the state or a local unit.\n(b) As used in this section, \"local unit\" does not include a school corporation.\n(c) The fiscal body of a local unit may elect to provide insurance for rostered volunteers for life, accident, or sickness coverage.","path":["TITLE 5.
