(a) A certificate of title may not be issued for a manufactured or privately assembled vehicle that does not have a special identification number stamped on the vehicle or permanently attached to the vehicle until the person that owns the vehicle has:\n(1) an inspection performed under IC 9-17-2-12;\n(2) obtained from the bureau a special identification number designated by the bureau; and\n(3) stamped or permanently attached the special identification number in a conspicuous place on the frame of the vehicle.\n(b) A special identification number obtained from the bureau under subsection (a) for a manufactured or mobile home must be the same identification number used on the certificate of title for the manufactured or mobile home.","path":["TITLE 9.
