(a) The bureau shall collect an administrative penalty of fifteen dollars ($15) from the following persons:\n(1) A person that fails to:\n(A) register; or\n(B) provide full payment for the registration of;\na vehicle within forty-five (45) days after the date on which the person acquires the vehicle.\n(2) Except as provided in subsection (b), a person that fails to:\n(A) renew; or\n(B) provide full payment for the renewal of;\nthe registration of a vehicle by the date on which the registration expires.\n(3) A person who:\n(A) owns a vehicle;\n(B) becomes an Indiana resident; and\n(C) fails to register or provide full payment for the registration of;\na vehicle within sixty (60) days after the person becomes an Indiana resident.\n(b) An administrative penalty collected under subsection (a) does not apply to a person who has filed an affidavit under section 4(b) of this chapter.\n(c) An administrative penalty collected under subsection (a) shall be deposited in the commission fund.\n(d) A person described in subsection (a) commits a Class C infraction.","path":["TITLE 9.
