(a) Except as provided in section 11 of this chapter, the fee to register a truck, a tractor used with a semitrailer, or a for-hire bus is determined as follows:\n | Declared Gross | Weight (Pounds) | Fee ($)\n | Greater than | Equal to |\n |  | or less than |\n | 0 |  | 11,000 | $ | 30.35\n | 11,000 |  | 16,000 |  | 144\n | 16,000 |  | 26,000 |  | 180\n | 26,000 |  | 36,000 |  | 372\n | 36,000 |  | 48,000 |  | 624\n | 48,000 |  | 66,000 |  | 900\n | 66,000 |  | 78,000 |  | 1,200\n | 78,000 |  |  |  | 1,692\n(b) A fee described in subsection (a) that is collected under the International Registration Plan shall be distributed as set forth in section 10.5 of this chapter.\n(c) A fee described in subsection (a) that is not required to be distributed under subsection (b) shall be distributed as follows:\n(1) Twenty-five cents ($0.25) to the state construction fund.\n(2) For a truck with a declared gross weight of eleven thousand (11,000) pounds or less, thirty cents ($0.30) to the spinal cord and brain injury fund.\n(3) Fifty cents ($0.50) to the state motor vehicle technology fund.\n(4) Two dollars and ninety cents ($2.90) to the highway, road and street fund.\n(5) Four dollars ($4) to the crossroads 2000 fund.\n(6) One dollar and twenty-five cents ($1.25) to the emergency communications fund.\n(7) Three dollars and ten cents ($3.10) to the commission fund.\n(8) Any remaining amount to the motor vehicle highway account.\n(d) A trailer that is towed by a truck must be registered separately, and the appropriate fee must be paid under this chapter.","path":["TITLE 9.
