{"data":{"id":"us-in/ic-9-18.5-5-2","jurisdiction":"us-in","citation":"IC 9-18.5-5-2","heading":"Qualifying vehicle exempt from parking fees and certain penalties","body":"Sec. 2. (a) An individual qualifying under section 1 of this chapter or issued a permanent parking placard under IC 9-18.5-8-4(a)(3) may not be:\n(1) charged a fee for parking in a metered space; or\n(2) assessed a penalty for parking in a metered space for longer than the time permitted.\n(b) This section does not authorize parking of a vehicle in a parking space during a time when parking in the space is prohibited if the prohibition is:\n(1) posted; and\n(2) authorized:\n(A) by ordinances in cities and towns; or\n(B) by order of the Indiana department of transportation.\n(c) The following are not entitled to the parking privileges authorized by this section:\n(1) An individual other than the owner of the vehicle displaying a disabled Hoosier veteran license plate authorized by this chapter.\n(2) Except when the individual is transporting an individual qualified under IC 9-18.5-8-4(a)(3), an individual other than an individual qualified under IC 9-18.5-8-4(a)(3) and displaying on a vehicle a permanent parking placard issued to an individual qualified under IC 9-18.5-8-4(a)(3).","path":["TITLE 9.
