An individual who applies under this chapter for a permit or driver's license and who is required by this chapter to take an examination shall:\n(1) appear before a member of the bureau or commission; or\n(2) appear before an instructor having an endorsement under IC 9-27-6-8;\nand be examined concerning the applicant's qualifications and ability to operate a motor vehicle upon a highway.","path":["TITLE 9.
