{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-12-1218","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 12-1218","heading":"City, county and township libraries; definitions.","body":"As used in this act unless the context requires a different meaning, the following words, terms and phrases shall have the meaning ascribed to them in this section:\n(a) \"Municipality\" shall mean a county, township or incorporated city.\n(b) \"Governing body\" shall mean the governing body of a city, the board of county commissioners of a county, and the township trustee, clerk and treasurer acting as the township board of a township.\n(c) \"Official head\" shall mean the mayor of a city, the chairman of the board of county commissioners of the county, and the township trustee of a township.\n(d) \"Library\" shall mean a library which serves the general public and is supported in whole or in part with tax money.\n(e) \"Regional library\" shall mean a library maintained by two or more counties, or two or more townships.\n(f) \"Library board\" shall mean the board of directors of a library.","path":["Chapter 12.—CITIES AND MUNICIPALITIES","Article 12.—LIBRARIES"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch12/012_012_0018.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T15:10:14Z","sha256":"ce588f5bcc779ac65f98e9e37adedc26e7643a9dbae303fc6c867e7dde62a3b9","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-12-1217","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-12-1219"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
