{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-2-1204","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 2-1204","heading":"Labeling.","body":"(1) Every package or container of commercial fertilizer shall bear a distinctly printed label in the English language on a tag attached to the package or container, or distinctly printed on the package or container. The label shall show and state:\n(a) The name and address of the person registering the commercial fertilizer;\n(b) the brand and grade of the commercial fertilizer;\n(c) the net weight in the package or container;\n(d) the registered guaranteed analysis. The guaranteed analysis shall include the minimum percentages of plant foods in the following order and form:\nNitrogen, minimum\n____ percent\nAvailable phosphoric acid, minimum\n____ percent\nSoluble potash, minimum\n____ percent,\nexcept (A) unacidulated mineral phosphatic materials and basic slag shall show the guaranteed analysis in the following order and form:\nTotal phosphoric acid, minimum\n____ percent\nAvailable phosphoric acid, minimum\n____ percent\nFineness of grind: ____ percent through mesh screen, and (B) bone, tankage, and other natural organic phosphate materials shall show the guaranteed analysis in the following form:\nTotal phosphoric acid, minimum\n____ percent;\n(e) commercial fertilizers containing any ingredient which is injurious to plants, shall be labeled to show: (A) The name and percentage of each such active ingredient; (B) adequate directions for use; and (C) adequate warnings against misuse;\n(f) the minimum percentage of any and all other plant food elements or compounds contributing to the value of the commercial fertilizer; and\n(g) such other information as may be prescribed by rules and regulations.\n(2) Bulk lots shall be accompanied by a label which shall be delivered to the purchaser showing the information required by this section.\n(3) No commercial fertilizer, except a specialty fertilizer, shall contain or be manufactured from process tankage.","path":["Chapter 2.—AGRICULTURE","Article 12.—FERTILIZERS"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch02/002_012_0004.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T15:09:42Z","sha256":"69d9ceb87a1321b88c016c655ce3c616879345c4350347d5f5b2a6dda940cb50","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-2-1202","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-2-1205"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
