{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-21-5508","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 21-5508","heading":"Indecent solicitation of a child; aggravated indecent solicitation of a child.","body":"(a) Indecent solicitation of a child is enticing, commanding, inviting, persuading or attempting to persuade a child 14 or more years of age but less than 16 years of age to:\n(1) Commit or to submit to an unlawful sexual act; or\n(2) enter any vehicle, building, room or secluded place with intent to commit an unlawful sexual act upon or with the child.\n(b) Aggravated indecent solicitation of a child is enticing, commanding, inviting, persuading or attempting to persuade a child under the age of 14 years to:\n(1) Commit or submit to an unlawful sexual act; or\n(2) enter any vehicle, building, room or secluded place with the intent to commit an unlawful sexual act upon or with the child.\n(c) (1) Indecent solicitation of a child is a severity level 6, person felony.\n(2) Aggravated indecent solicitation of a child is a severity level 5, person felony.\n(d) It shall not be a defense that the offender did not know or have reason to know that the sexual act was unlawful.","path":["Chapter 21.—CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS","Article 55.—SEX OFFENSES"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch21/021_055_0008.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T15:11:10Z","sha256":"6df7767b970c9d807477e85ef7cfe97fbf75c5eab79cd4880be516669e6897a3","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-21-5507","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-21-5509"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
