{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-21-5906","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 21-5906","heading":"Criminal disclosure of a warrant.","body":"(a) Criminal disclosure of a warrant is recklessly making public in any way, prior to the execution of such warrant the:\n(1) Fact that a search warrant or warrant for arrest has been applied for or issued; or\n(2) contents of the affidavit or testimony on which such warrant is based.\n(b) Criminal disclosure of a warrant is a class B nonperson misdemeanor.\n(c) Criminal disclosure of a warrant shall not apply:\n(1) When disclosure of the warrant is made at the request of a law enforcement officer for the purpose of assisting in the execution of such warrant;\n(2) to personnel of a law enforcement agency disclosing a warrant:\n(A) For the purpose of encouraging the person named in the warrant to voluntarily surrender; or\n(B) issued in a case involving the abduction of a child unless such disclosure is specifically prohibited by the court issuing such warrant.","path":["Chapter 21.—CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS","Article 59.—CRIMES AFFECTING GOVERNMENT FUNCTIONS"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch21/021_059_0006.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T15:11:11Z","sha256":"4485606b257629a9c3c1e2354012a77008e194a89794fd1959961af41ccc1429","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-21-5905","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-21-5907"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
