{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-23-3315","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 23-3315","heading":"Best interest of a child.","body":"(a) When determining whether an order of visitation to a nonparent is in the best interest of a child, the court shall consider:\n(1) The nature and extent of the relationship between the child and the parent or person acting as a parent;\n(2) the nature and extent of the relationship between the child and the nonparent;\n(3) past or present conduct by a party or individual living with a party that poses a risk to the physical, emotional or psychological well-being of the child;\n(4) the likely impact of the requested order on the relationship between the child and the parent or person acting as a parent;\n(5) the applicable factors in K.S.A. 23-3203, and amendments thereto; and\n(6) any other factor affecting the best interest of the child.\n(b) The court may consider the views of the child, taking into account the age and maturity of the child.","path":["Chapter 23.—KANSAS FAMILY LAW CODE-REVISED","Article 33.—NONPARENT VISITATION"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch23/023_033_0015.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T15:11:21Z","sha256":"fef11d66ebd359d1439a091a10f6c6d29b89ec0aba222851a063871e95f8f5a8","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-23-3314","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-23-3316"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
