{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-32-988","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 32-988","heading":"Fees for licenses and permits.","body":"(a) The secretary is authorized to adopt, in accordance with K.S.A. 32-805, and amendments thereto, rules and regulations fixing the amount of fees for the following items, subject to the following limitations and subject to the requirement that no such rules and regulations shall be adopted as temporary rules and regulations:\nBig game permits\nResident (other than elk permit): maximum $100\nNonresident (other than elk permit): maximum $400\nElk permit: maximum $350\nNonresident mule deer stamp: maximum $150\nNonresident applications: maximum $25\nCombination hunting and fishing licenses\nResident: maximum $50\nLifetime: maximum $1,000; or 8 quarterly payments, each maximum $150\nNonresident: maximum $200\nCommercial dog training permits: maximum $25\nCommercial guide permit or associate guide permit\nResident: maximum $250\nNonresident: maximum $1,000\nCommercial harvest or dealer permits: maximum $200\nCommercial prairie rattlesnake harvesting permits\nResident or nonresident with valid hunting license: maximum $5\nResident or nonresident nonfirearm without valid hunting license: maximum $20\nControlled shooting area operator license: maximum $400\nDuplicate licenses, permits, stamps and other issues of the department: maximum $10\nFalconry\nPermits: maximum $300\nExaminations: maximum $100\nField trial permits: maximum $25\nFishing licenses\nResident: maximum $25\nLifetime: maximum $500; or 8 quarterly payments, each maximum $75\nNonresident: maximum $75\nFive-day nonresident: maximum $25\nInstitutional group: maximum $200\nSpecial nonprofit group: maximum $200\nTwenty-four-hour: maximum $10\nFur dealer licenses\nResident: maximum $200\nNonresident: maximum $400\nFurharvester licenses\nResident: maximum $25\nLifetime: maximum $500; or 8 quarterly payments, each maximum $75\nNonresident: maximum $400\nGame breeder permits: maximum $15\nPersons with a physical or developmental disability hunting and fishing permits: maximum $5\nHound trainer-breeder running permits: maximum $25\nHunting licenses\nResident: maximum $25\nLifetime: maximum $500; or 8 quarterly payments, each maximum $75\nNonresident 16 or more years of age: maximum $125\nNonresident under 16 years of age: maximum $75\nControlled shooting area: maximum $25\nForty-eight-hour waterfowl permits: maximum $25\nMigratory waterfowl habitat stamps: maximum $8\nMussel fishing licenses\nResident: maximum $200\nNonresident: maximum $1,500\nRabbit permits\nLive trapping: maximum $200\nShipping: maximum $400\nRaptor propagation permits: maximum $100\nRehabilitation permits: maximum $50\nScientific, educational or exhibition permits: maximum $10\nWildlife damage control permits: maximum $10\nWildlife importation permits: maximum $10\nWild turkey permits\nResident: maximum $100\nNonresident: maximum $400\nResident turkey tag: maximum $20\nNonresident turkey tag: maximum $30\nSpecial permits under K.S.A. 32-961, and amendments thereto: maximum $100\nMiscellaneous fees\nSpecial events on department land or water: maximum $200\nSpecial departmental services, materials or supplies: no maximum\nOther issues of department: no maximum\nVendor bond: no maximum\n(b) The fee for a landowner-tenant resident big game or wild turkey hunting permit shall be an amount equal to 1 /2 the fee for a general resident big game or wild turkey hunting permit.\n(c) The fee for a big game or wild turkey hunting permit for a resident under 16 years of age shall be an amount not to exceed 1 /2 the fee for a general resident big game or wild turkey hunting permit.\n(d) The fee for a furharvester license for a resident under 16 years of age shall be an amount equal to 1 /2 the fee for a resident furharvester license.\n(e) For a resident who is at least 65 years of age, but less than 75 years of age:\n(1) The fee for an annual hunting license shall be an amount equal to 1 /2 the fee for a general annual hunting license;\n(2) the fee for an annual fishing license shall be an amount equal to 1 /2 the fee for a general annual fishing license; and\n(3) the fee for an annual combination hunting and fishing license shall be an amount equal to 1 /2 the fee for a general annual combination hunting and fishing license.\n(f) Any person who is a resident of this state and satisfies the requirements to be considered a disabled veteran under K.S.A. 2025 Supp. 32-934, and amendments thereto, shall be exempt from the hunting and fishing license fees listed in subsection (a).\n(g) The secretary may establish, by rules and regulations adopted in accordance with K.S.A. 32-805, and amendments thereto, different fees for various classes and types of licenses, permits, stamps and other issuances of the department which may occur within each item as described under subsection (a).","path":["Chapter 32.—WILDLIFE, PARKS AND RECREATION","Article 9.—LICENSES, PERMITS, STAMPS AND OTHER ISSUES"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch32/032_009_0088.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T15:11:40Z","sha256":"12154e91ed653fd95dac060a18bd5dc856da53e3c28b18b46ae6d417f8b9a49f","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-32-987","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-32-989"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
