{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-38-1708","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 38-1708","heading":"Transfer by obligor.","body":"(a) Subject to subsections (b) and (c), a person not subject to K.S.A. 38-1706 or 38-1707, and amendments thereto, who holds property of or owes a liquidated debt to a minor not having a conservator may make an irrevocable transfer to a custodian for the benefit of the minor pursuant to K.S.A. 38-1710, and amendments thereto.\n(b) If a person having the right to nominate a custodian under K.S.A. 38-1704, and amendments thereto, has nominated a custodian under that section to receive the custodial property, the transfer must be made to that person.\n(c) If no custodian has been nominated under K.S.A. 38-1704, and amendments thereto, or all persons so nominated as custodian die before the transfer or are unable, decline or are ineligible to serve, a transfer under this section may be made to an adult member of the minor's family or to a trust company unless the property exceeds $25,000 in value.","path":["Chapter 38.—MINORS","Article 17.—UNIFORM TRANSFERS TO MINORS ACT"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch38/038_017_0008.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T15:11:45Z","sha256":"1dd57b7c6bf70e6dc7beaee03083a4557526d7b83fde34a86951a32b6e57779a","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-38-1707","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-38-1709"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
