{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-39-975","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 39-975","heading":"Same; registration of operators; rules and regulations.","body":"(a) On and after July 1, 2014, no person shall represent that such person is an operator unless such person is registered under the operator registration act as an operator. A violation of this subsection is a class C misdemeanor.\n(b) The secretary shall adopt by rules and regulations a system for registering operators. Such rules and regulations shall include qualifications for registration. Such rules and regulations shall require, at a minimum, that the applicant:\n(1) Be at least 21 years of age;\n(2) (A) Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with one year relevant experience as determined by the secretary;\n(B) possess an associate's degree in a relevant field as determined by the secretary; or\n(C) possess a baccalaureate degree;\n(3) has successfully completed a course approved by the secretary on principles of assisted living;\n(4) has passed an examination approved by the secretary on principles of assisted living and such other requirements as may be established by the secretary by rules and regulations;\n(5) has filed an application; and\n(6) has paid the required application fee.","path":["Chapter 39.—DEPENDENT PERSONS AND PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES; SOCIAL WELFARE","Article 9.—ADULT CARE HOMES"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch39/039_009_0075.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T15:11:51Z","sha256":"aa504d7b51860bf69ad98446f1a6caffd3fc5fbbefa9653a03513d2b8da9d4b1","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-39-974","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-39-976"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
