{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-40-2a26","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 40-2a26","heading":"Medium and lower grade obligations; definitions.","body":"As used in K.S.A. 40-2a27 of this act:\n(a) \"Medium grade obligations\" means obligations which are designated \"3\" by the SVO or its equivalent rating by a nationally recognized statistical rating organization recognized by the SVO.\n(b) \"Lower grade obligations\" means obligations which are designated \"4,\" \"5\" or \"6\" by the SVO or its equivalent rating by a nationally recognized statistical rating organization recognized by the SVO.\n(c) \"Admitted assets\" means the amount shown on the insurer's last annual report as filed with the state commissioner of insurance or a more recent quarterly financial statement filed with the commissioner.\n(d) \"Aggregate amount\" of medium grade and lower grade obligations means the aggregate statutory statement value thereof.\n(e) \"Institution\" means a corporation, a joint-stock company, an association, a trust, a business partnership, a business joint venture or similar entity.\n(f) \"Insurance company\" or \"insurer\" means an insurance company other than life organized under the laws of this state.","path":["Chapter 40.—INSURANCE","Article 2a.—INVESTMENTS BY OTHER THAN LIFE INSURANCE COMPANIES"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch40/040_002a_0026.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T15:11:56Z","sha256":"6855e5595f1ef48a0a823c2bb22a345ddb6bf9d7e4da0ec5a5f5d85f79a0a172","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-40-2a25","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-40-2a27"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
