{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-44-1529","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 44-1529","heading":"Criminal conduct by an athlete agent.","body":"(a) Criminal conduct by an athlete agent is when: (1) An athlete agent, with the intent to induce a student-athlete to enter into an agency contract, does any of the following: (A) Gives any materially false or misleading information or makes a materially false promise or representation;\n(B) furnishes anything of value to a student-athlete before the student-athlete enters into the agency contract; or\n(C) furnishes anything of value to any individual other than the student-athlete or another registered athlete agent; or\n(2) an athlete agent intentionally: (A) Initiates contact with a student-athlete unless registered under this act;\n(B) refuses or fails to retain or permit inspection of the records required to be retained by K.S.A. 44-1528, and amendments thereto;\n(C) fails to register when required by K.S.A. 44-1519, and amendments thereto;\n(D) provides materially false or misleading information in an application for registration or renewal of registration;\n(E) predates or postdates an agency contract; or\n(F) fails to notify a student-athlete before the student-athlete signs or otherwise authenticates an agency contract for a particular sport that the signing or authentication may make the student-athlete ineligible to participate as a student-athlete in that sport.\n(b) Criminal conduct by an athlete agent is a class A nonperson misdemeanor.","path":["Chapter 44.—LABOR AND INDUSTRIES","Article 15.—ATHLETE AGENTS"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch44/044_015_0029.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-10-15T06:16:41Z","sha256":"1606c6e34fdf01b007dff32af46b26cb83701a006cc448b939108208e426eddf","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-44-1528","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-44-1530"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
