{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-44-1607","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 44-1607","heading":"Patrons of amusement rides, acceptance of risk, duties.","body":"(a) Each patron of an amusement ride, antique amusement ride, limited-use amusement ride or registered agritourism activity, by participation, accepts the risks inherent in such participation of which an ordinary prudent person is or should be aware.\n(b) Each patron of a ride has a duty to:\n(1) Exercise the judgment and act in the manner of an ordinary prudent person while participating in a ride;\n(2) obey all instructions and warnings, written or oral, prior to and during participation in a ride;\n(3) refrain from participation in a ride while under the influence of alcohol or drugs;\n(4) engage all safety devices that are provided;\n(5) refrain from disconnecting or disabling any safety device except at the express direction of the owner's agent or employee; and\n(6) refrain from extending arms and legs beyond the carrier or seating area except at the express direction of the owner's agent or employee.\n(c) Any parent or guardian of a patron shall have a duty to reasonably ensure that the patron complies with all provisions of this act.","path":["Chapter 44.—LABOR AND INDUSTRIES","Article 16.—AMUSEMENT RIDES"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch44/044_016_0007.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-10-15T06:16:41Z","sha256":"104030dbc1c1fdc241c8f01754d010b3ccbba568a5cbf72448afc91c424b2226","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-44-1606","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-44-1608"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
