{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-65-5301","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 65-5301","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this act:\n(a) \"Asbestos project\" means an activity undertaken to remove or encapsulate friable asbestos containing materials.\n(b) \"Business entity\" means a partnership, firm, association, corporation, sole proprietorship or other business concern.\n(c) \"License\" means an authorization issued by the secretary permitting a business entity to engage in an asbestos project.\n(d) \"Secretary\" means the secretary of health and environment.\n(e) \"Friable asbestos containing material\" means any material that contains more than 1% asbestos, by weight, which is applied to ceilings, walls, structural members, piping, ductwork or any other part of a building and which, when dry, may be crumbled, pulverized or reduced to powder by hand pressure.\n(f) \"Asbestos\" means that asbestiform varieties of: Chrysotile, crocidolite, amosite, anthophyllite, tremolite and actinolite.","path":["Chapter 65.—PUBLIC HEALTH","Article 53.—ASBESTOS CONTROL"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch65/065_053_0001.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-10-15T06:24:36Z","sha256":"9f09162d8ec365fe8a613d4ab4cc6e0eb0ebc5be6f03aca8d1e8e987a189d2b7","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-65-5117","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-65-5302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
