{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-72-6142","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 72-6142","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this act:\n(a) \"Board of education\" means the board of education of a unified school district or the governing authority of an accredited nonpublic school.\n(b) \"School\" means a public school or an accredited nonpublic school.\n(c) \"Public school\" means a school operated by a unified school district organized under the laws of this state.\n(d) \"Accredited nonpublic school\" means a nonpublic school participating in the quality performance accreditation system.\n(e) \"School employee\" means any administrative, professional or paraprofessional employee of a school.\n(f) \"Superintendent of schools\" means the superintendent of schools appointed by the board of education of a unified school district or the chief administrative officer of an accredited nonpublic school appointed by the board of education of the school.","path":["Chapter 72.—SCHOOLS","Article 61.—STUDENT SAFETY AND DISCIPLINE"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch72/072_061_0042.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-10-15T06:28:56Z","sha256":"a09897f9a3578c5f2948e91910742f36dc3ed69384c9d9ea4b02a566779e7408","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-72-6141","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-72-6143"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
