{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-74-32-177","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 74-32,177","heading":"Prohibited acts; criminal penalty; revocation or condition of certificate.","body":"(a) No person shall:\n(1) Operate an institution without a certificate of approval;\n(2) accept contracts or enrollment applications from a representative who is not registered as required by this act;\n(3) use fraud or misrepresentation to obtain a certificate of approval;\n(4) use fraud or misrepresentation in advertising or in procuring enrollment of a student;\n(5) use the term \"accredited\" in the name or advertisement of the institution unless such institution is accredited as defined in this act; or\n(6) use the term \"university\" in the name or advertisement of the institution unless such institution is a university as defined by this act.\n(b) Violation of any provision of subsection (a) or any other provision of this act is a class C nonperson misdemeanor.\n(c) The state board may revoke or condition a certificate of approval for any violation of subsection (a) or any other provision of this act.","path":["Chapter 74.—STATE BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND AUTHORITIES","Article 32.—STATE BOARD OF REGENTS"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch74/074_032_0177.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T15:14:12Z","sha256":"47856eb9145888e1b05d1597e8635e942bb9939deddc266bab2c41166bc88f5b","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-74-32-175","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-74-32-178"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
