{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-75-52-148","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 75-52,148","heading":"Report on serious offenses committed by sex offenders while in custody of secretary; annual report to the legislature.","body":"(a) The department of corrections shall be required to review and report on the following serious offenses committed by sex offenders, as defined by K.S.A. 22-4902, and amendments thereto, while such offenders are in the custody of the secretary of corrections:\n(1) Murder in the first degree, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5402, and amendments thereto;\n(2) murder in the second degree, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5403, and amendments thereto;\n(3) capital murder, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5401, and amendments thereto;\n(4) rape, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5503, and amendments thereto;\n(5) aggravated criminal sodomy, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5504(b), and amendments thereto;\n(6) sexual exploitation of a child, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5510, and amendments thereto;\n(7) kidnapping, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5408(a), and amendments thereto;\n(8) aggravated kidnapping, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5408(b), and amendments thereto;\n(9) criminal restraint, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5411, and amendments thereto;\n(10) indecent solicitation of a child, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5508(a), and amendments thereto;\n(11) aggravated indecent solicitation of a child, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5508(b), and amendments thereto;\n(12) indecent liberties with a child, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5506(a), and amendments thereto;\n(13) aggravated indecent liberties with a child, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5506(b), and amendments thereto;\n(14) criminal sodomy, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5504(a), and amendments thereto;\n(15) child abuse, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5602, and amendments thereto;\n(16) aggravated robbery, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5420(b), and amendments thereto;\n(17) burglary, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5807(a), and amendments thereto;\n(18) aggravated burglary, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5807(b), and amendments thereto;\n(19) theft, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5801, and amendments thereto;\n(20) vehicular homicide, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5406, and amendments thereto;\n(21) involuntary manslaughter while driving under the influence, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5405(a)(3) or (a)(5), and amendments thereto; or\n(22) stalking, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5427, and amendments thereto.\n(b) The secretary of corrections shall submit such report to the speaker of the house of representatives and the president of the senate annually, beginning January 1, 2007.","path":["Chapter 75.—STATE DEPARTMENTS; PUBLIC OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES","Article 52.—DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch75/075_052_0148.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T15:14:48Z","sha256":"f827d53bcda8b494c2006779fc1267d542e12422bbcff4506f919c4e6f7225d9","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-75-52-147","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-75-52-149"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
