{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-8-1-129","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 8-1,129","heading":"Unlawful parking in accessible parking; blocking access ramp or aisle; penalties.","body":"(a) At no time, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic, or in compliance with the law or the directions of a law enforcement officer or official traffic-control device, shall a person:\n(1) Stop, stand or park a vehicle, as defined in K.S.A. 8-126, and amendments thereto, in any parking space designated as accessible parking without displaying a special license plate, permanent placard or disabled veteran license plate and an individual identification card, or a valid temporary placard. Placards shall be displayed in accordance with subsection (a) of K.S.A. 8-1,125, and amendments thereto;\n(2) stop, stand or park a vehicle so that it blocks an access entrance;\n(3) stop, stand or park a vehicle so that it blocks a disabled parking stall;\n(4) stop, stand or park a vehicle so that it blocks an access aisle; or\n(5) stop, stand or park a vehicle in an access aisle between or beside a designated accessible parking space.\n(b) Each violation of subsection (a) is an unclassified misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than $50 nor more than $100.\n(c) The provisions of subsection (a) shall be enforced by law enforcement officers on public and private property.","path":["Chapter 8.—AUTOMOBILES AND OTHER VEHICLES","Article 1.—GENERAL PROVISIONS"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch08/008_001_0129.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T15:09:53Z","sha256":"94940b8d19a755323ce48b7f5b0fca34aae54082517226c90c1938f04484cb60","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-8-1-128","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-8-1-130"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
