{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-8-1708","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 8-1708","heading":"Stop lamps and turn signals.","body":"(a) Every motor vehicle, trailer, semitrailer and pole trailer shall be equipped with two (2) or more stop lamps meeting the requirements of subsection (a) of K.S.A. 8-1721, except that passenger cars manufactured or assembled prior to January 1, 1953, shall be equipped with at least one stop lamp. On a combination of vehicles, only the stop lamps on the rearmost vehicle need actually be seen from the distance specified in subsection (a) of K.S.A. 8-1721.\n(b) Every motor vehicle, trailer, semitrailer and pole trailer shall be equipped with electric turn signal lamps meeting the requirements of subsection (b) of K.S.A. 8-1721, except that passenger cars and trucks less than eighty (80) inches in width, manufactured or assembled prior to January 1, 1953, and vehicles registered under K.S.A. 8-194 need not be equipped with electric turn signal lamps.","path":["Chapter 8.—AUTOMOBILES AND OTHER VEHICLES","Article 17.—UNIFORM ACT REGULATING TRAFFIC; EQUIPMENT OF VEHICLES"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch08/008_017_0008.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T15:10:00Z","sha256":"133e5edefa51aea6c3e8761f569d8a9fa4039590442b55a84ecdc23f75e7160e","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-8-1707","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-8-1709"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
