{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-8-1806","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 8-1806","heading":"Road-lighting equipment on motor-driven cycles.","body":"The head lamp or head lamps upon every motor-driven cycle may be of the single-beam or multiple-beam type, but in either event shall comply with the requirements and limitations as follows:\n(a) Every such head lamp or head lamps on a motor-driven cycle shall be of sufficient intensity to reveal persons and vehicles at a distance of not less than one hundred (100) feet when the motor-driven cycle is operated at any speed less than twenty-five (25) miles per hour, and at a distance of not less than two hundred (200) feet when the motor-driven cycle is operated at a speed of twenty-five (25) or more miles per hour, and at a distance of not less than three hundred (300) feet when the motor-driven cycle is operated at a speed of thirty-five (35) or more miles per hour.\n(b) In the event the motor-driven cycle is equipped with a multiple-beam head lamp or head lamps, such equipment shall comply with the requirements of K.S.A. 8-1805.\n(c) In the event the motor-driven cycle is equipped with a single-beam lamp or lamps, such lamp or lamps shall be so aimed that when the vehicle is loaded none of the high intensity portion of light, at a distance of twenty-five (25) feet ahead, shall project higher than the level of the center of the lamp from which it comes.","path":["Chapter 8.—AUTOMOBILES AND OTHER VEHICLES","Article 18.—UNIFORM ACT REGULATING TRAFFIC; EQUIPMENT ON MOTORCYCLES AND MOTOR-DRIVEN CYCLES"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch08/008_018_0006.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T15:10:00Z","sha256":"f9a9d37eef2084ff5b701bd14c929c6624d7c77057ac15dc3f37feab8f5b4fa6","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-8-1805","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-8-1807"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
