{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-82a-927","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 82a-927","heading":"State water plan; long-range goals.","body":"The long-range goals and objectives of the state of Kansas for management, conservation and development of the waters of the state, are hereby declared to be:\n(a) The development, to meet the anticipated future needs of the people of the state, of sufficient supplies of water for beneficial purposes;\n(b) the reduction of damaging floods and of losses resulting from floods;\n(c) the protection and the improvement of the quality of the water supplies of the state;\n(d) the sound management, both public and private, of the atmospheric, surface, and groundwater supplies of the state;\n(e) the prevention of the waste of the water supplies of the state;\n(f) the prevention of the pollution of the water supplies of the state;\n(g) the efficient, economic distribution of the water supplies of the state;\n(h) the sound coordination of the development of the water resources of the state with the development of the other resources of the state; and\n(i) the protection of the public interest through the conservation of the water resources of the state in a technologically and economically feasible manner.","path":["Chapter 82a.—WATERS AND WATERCOURSES","Article 9.—STATE WATER RESOURCE PLANNING"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch82a/082a_009_0027.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T15:15:28Z","sha256":"e4e4b5ec8fea64a4774f3422cc47ae98717d79dd2b956c670d403c274ca9403f","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-82a-925","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-82a-928"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
