{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-84-8-208","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 84-8-208","heading":"Effect of signature of authenticating trustee, registrar or transfer agent.","body":"(a) A person signing a security certificate as authenticating trustee, registrar, transfer agent, or the like, warrants to a purchaser for value of the certificated security, if the purchaser is without notice of a particular defect, that:\n(1) The certificate is genuine;\n(2) the person's own participation in the issue of the security is within the person's capacity and within the scope of the authority received by the person from the issuer; and\n(3) the person has reasonable grounds to believe that the certificated security is in the form and within the amount the issuer is authorized to issue.\n(b) Unless otherwise agreed, a person signing under subsection (a) does not assume responsibility for the validity of the security in other respects.","path":["Chapter 84.—UNIFORM COMMERCIAL CODE","Article 8.—INVESTMENT SECURITIES"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch84/084_008_0208.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T15:15:37Z","sha256":"88e152bc0bb52800ed1803e1f1bd2f7995fd04abe00b7f0a521dd1fa12ea74e1","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-84-8-207","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-84-8-209"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
