{"data":{"id":"us-ks/k.s.a.-9-594","jurisdiction":"us-ks","citation":"K.S.A. 9-594","heading":"Criminal penalities for violations of the act.","body":"(a) Any person that intentionally makes a false statement, misrepresentation or false certification in a record filed or required to be maintained under this act or that intentionally makes a false entry or omits a material entry in such a record is guilty of a severity level 9, nonperson felony.\n(b) Any person that knowingly engages in an activity for which a license is required under this act without being licensed under this act and who receives more than $500 in compensation within a 30-day period from this activity is guilty of a severity level 9, nonperson felony.\n(c) Any person that knowingly engages in an activity for which a license is required under this act without being licensed under this act and who receives not more than $500 in compensation within a 30-day period from this activity is guilty of a class A nonperson misdemeanor.\n(d) This section shall take effect on and after January 1, 2025.","path":["Chapter 9.—BANKS AND BANKING; TRUST COMPANIES","Article 5.—MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS"],"source_url":"https://www.ksrevisor.gov/statutes/chapters/ch09/009_005_0094.html","current_through":"2025 legislative session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T15:10:03Z","sha256":"faac5fe89c1ccc91e47b6a45a4894b580669e2c073f91a2be561b024c5e69de3","source_id":"us-ks","stale":false,"prev":"us-ks/k.s.a.-9-593","next":"us-ks/k.s.a.-9-595"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
