{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-107.350","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 107.350","heading":"Levy of ad valorem tax.","body":"In order to accomplish its purposes the district, through its board, may request the fiscal\ncourt of the county in which it is located to levy an ad valorem tax on all property within\nthe district which is assessed for local taxation at a rate which shall not exceed ten (10)\ncents per $100 of assessed value of said property and which shall not exceed the amount\nnecessary to amortize any bonds (whether revenue or general obligation bonds) issued or\nproposed to be issued to finance the project or projects pro posed by the district, plus\noperating expenses of the district. All ad valorem taxes authorized by KRS 107.310 to\n107.500 shall be collected in the same manner as are county ad valorem taxes and shall be\nturned over to the board as the governing body of the district. Such ad valorem taxes shall\nbe solely for the benefit and purposes of the district and shall be in addition to all other ad\nvalorem taxes. Said fiscal court shall levy the ad valorem tax so requested initially and\nfrom year to year thereafter if required to amortize any bonds (whether revenue or general\nobligation bonds) issued or proposed for a project not disapproved under the authority of\nKRS 107.310 to 107.500, but it shall refuse to levy any tax if no bonds (whether revenue\nor general oblig ation bonds) are issued or outstanding, and if the proposed project to be\nfinanced by the bonds has been disapproved as set out in KRS 107.360.","path":["KRS Chapter 107"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=27180","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:09Z","sha256":"717a5078a03a1139792a69aff9fdbf14a66f9ea85ab93d040df6d75de1c01f73","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-107.340","next":"us-ky/krs-107.360"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
