{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-108.105","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 108.105","heading":"Alternate method for creation of ambulance service district.","body":"(1) It is the intent of this section to create an alternative means of creating an\nambulance service district in any city or county of the Commonwealth which has\nnot heretofore created the same.\n(2) In all counties where a county or city -county ambulance servi ce has not been\nestablished pursuant to KRS 108.080 to 108.180, an ambulance service district may\nbe created in accordance with the provisions of this section.\n(3) The fiscal court or local legislative body may by ordinance create an ambulance\nservice dist rict and an ambulance service district tax in such amount as deemed\nsufficient, but not in excess of ten cents ($0.10) per one hundred dollars ($100) of\nfull assessed valuation.\n(4) The ambulance service district tax shall be collected in the same manner a s\nprovided in KRS 108.080 to 108.180 and shall be used solely for the maintenance\nand operation of the city, county, city-county, or district ambulance service.\n(5) Other matters with regard to the operation and management of the ambulance\nservice district  shall be in accordance with the provisions of KRS 108.080 to\n108.180 insofar as they do not conflict with the provisions of this section.\n(6) Nothing in this section shall be construed as to abridge the rights of two (2) or more\ncities, counties or cities  in those counties from establishing a joint ambulance\nservice district as provided in KRS 108.080 to 108.180.","path":["KRS Chapter 108"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=27221","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:10Z","sha256":"4430d91aaf4c6f3f83902ad3dbc86104f1768043f6d9d17f7f6f61c4b3e6a7cf","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-108.100","next":"us-ky/krs-108.110"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
