{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-108.110","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 108.110","heading":"Board of directors -- Appointment -- Term of office -- Vacancies --","body":"Quorum -- Removal of board members.\n(1) The affairs of the district shall be controlled and managed by a board of directors\nappointed by the county judge/executive with the approv al of the fiscal court and\ncity legislative bodies in the following manner:\n(a) If the district consists of one (1) city, three (3) members shall be appointed to\nthe board by the city legislative body;\n(b) If the district consists of two (2) cities, the le gislative body of the city having\nthe greater portion of the population of the district shall appoint two (2)\ndirectors and the legislative body of the other city shall appoint the third\ndirector;\n(c) If the district consists of more than two (2) cities, t he legislative body of the\ncity having the greatest portion of the population of the district shall appoint\ntwo (2) directors and the legislative body of the remaining cities comprising\nthe district shall appoint one (1) director;\n(d) If the district consists of one (1) county, three (3) or five (5) members shall be\nappointed to the board by the county judge/executive of the county;\n(e) If the district consists of two (2) counties, the county judge/executive of the\ncounty having the greater portion of the population of the district shall appoint\ntwo (2) directors and the county judge/executive of the other county shall\nappoint the third director;\n(f) If the district consists of more than two (2) counties, the county\njudge/executive of the county having the g reatest portion of the population of\nthe district shall appoint two (2) directors and the county judge/executive of\nthe remaining counties comprising the district shall each appoint one (1)\ndirector;\n(g) The legislative body of each city with a population equal to or greater than\neight thousand (8,000), or if there is no such city, the city with the highest\npopulation located within each county in the district shall appoint one (1)\nadditional director;\n(h) If part of an ambulance district within a county co nsists of an unincorporated\narea, the county judge/executive, with the approval of the fiscal court, shall\nappoint no more than two (2) persons residing within the affected\nunincorporated area to the board of directors for a term of two (2) years.\n(2) Each board member shall reside within the district and within the county or city of\nwhich he was appointed to represent.\n(3) The board of directors shall be appointed within thirty (30) days after the\nestablishment of the district. Directors shall be appointed  for terms of two (2) years\neach, except that initially the appointing authority shall appoint a minority of the\nboard members for one (1) year terms. Subsequent terms shall all be for two (2)\nyears.
