{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-116.114","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 116.114","heading":"Voter registration records cleanup annual report -- Requirements --","body":"Report of registered voter by address -- Online access to report and method\nfor citizens to report anomalies.\n(1) The Secretary of State, in cooperation with the State Board of Elections, shall issue\nand present a comprehensive activity report regarding voter registration records\ncleanup activities on or before July 1 of each year to the Legislative Research\nCommission for referral to the Interim Joint Committee on State Gover nment. The\nSecretary of State and the State Board of Elections shall also make the report\navailable to the public on their respective official websites. The activity report shall\ninclude:\n(a) Any activities to resolve reported anomalies per address, such a s a high\nnumber of people living at a single-family home address, voters registered at a\ncommercial location, or voters registered at an address that is a vacant lot;\n(b) Any activities to resolve incidents of multiple people registered at the same\naddress with the same age that have minor variations in the spelling of the\nname and the status of the resolution of those duplicates;\n(c) The number of voter eligibility changes, which shall include relocation out of\nstate, death, incarceration, expungement, and citizenship status changes; and\n(d) Any use of a national voter registration clearinghouse system or interstate\nagreement to remove inaccurate or fraudulent registrations and the cost of\nthose agreements. No agreement or contract shall be entered into after April 1,\n2025, that obligates the state to make any expenditures or efforts to register\nunregistered persons, but agreements for the purpose of exchanging data to\nremove ineligible voters are expressly permitted.\n(2) (a) The State Board of Elections shall create a data-based report on or before July\n1 of each year, containing every address in each county that lists a registered\nvoter and the number of active and inactive voters registered at that address.\nAny personal identifying information shall be red acted, and any persons\nresiding at those addresses shall not be contacted about their registration\nexcept by mail.\n(b) Citizens of each county shall have in -person access to the report at the county\nclerk's office, as well as online access via the Secretar y of State's and State\nBoard of Elections' official websites. Any discrepancies may be reported via\nthe publicly available link on the Secretary of State's and State Board of\nElections' official websites.\n(c) The Secretary of State and State Board of Elect ions shall provide a publicly\navailable link on their respective official websites for citizens to report\nanomalies or discrepancies, and also a secure electronic form to allow a voter\ncurrently on the registered voter rolls erroneously to voluntarily canc el his or\nher voter registration in Kentucky.","path":["KRS Chapter 116"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57017","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:11Z","sha256":"aa9161e2c8c6f2da74ab72129b5e6181a7f6b8f2eee647dfaedaaadaea0db14a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-116.113","next":"us-ky/krs-116.115"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
