{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-116.200","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 116.200","heading":"Roster of voters eligible to vote in city and school board elections --","body":"Information to be provided to county clerk.\n(1) (a) On or before January 1, 2011, each city clerk, except in consolidated local\ngovernments and urban -county governmen ts, shall provide the clerk of the\ncounty or counties in which the city is located with a list of all properties\nwithin the city and a map of the city boundaries for the county clerk to\nmaintain a roster of voters who are eligible to vote in city elections . A county\nclerk may accept the list of city properties in an electronic format and the city\nclerk may provide a copy of the city's boundary map maintained by the\nKentucky Commonwealth Office of Technology, Division of Geographic\nInformation Systems.\n(b) Documentation of any change to the boundaries of a city shall be reported to\nthe county clerk in accordance with KRS 81A.475.\n(2) (a) On or before January 1, 2011, each school district board shall provide the\nclerk of the county in which the school district  is located with maps and\nwritten descriptions of the boundaries of each school board district located in\nthe county for the county clerk to maintain a roster of voters who are eligible\nto vote in school board elections.\n(b) Documentation of any change to a school district's boundaries shall be\nreported to the county clerk within sixty (60) days of the change, or\nimmediately if the change is within sixty (60) days of the June 1 deadline\nestablished in KRS 160.210(4)(d).\n(3) Each county clerk shall code all registered voters in that county in such a manner\nthat precinct election officers may determine the voter's eligibility to vote in city\nand school board elections prior to each primary and regular election for city\nofficers in that county, each regular ele ction for school board members in that\ncounty, and each special election in which a ballot question is presented to the\nresidents of a city or a school board district.\n(4) Notwithstanding KRS 64.012, the county clerk shall not charge a fee to a city or\nschool district providing any information required by subsections (1)(a) and (2)(a)\nof this section.\n(5) Nothing in this section shall prohibit a county clerk from requesting additional\ninformation from the city, school district board, or any other reliable s ource to\nascertain whether a registered voter resides within a city or a school district\nboundary.","path":["KRS Chapter 116"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56991","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:11Z","sha256":"28da2f41289ca38887e155b13915be96640065d5485af6e7282f049873bf7e7c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-116.192","next":"us-ky/krs-116.990"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
