If a change becomes necessary after that date,\nnotice of change shall be published pursuant to  KRS Chapter 424. If a change\nbecomes necessary on election day, notice shall be posted at the former voting\nplace. The expense of renting voting places, for which rent of not less than twenty\ndollars ($20) shall be paid, shall be paid in the same manner a s other election\nexpenses.\n(2) The county board of elections shall have the authority to designate as voting places,\non election day and all days of excused and no -excuse in-person absentee voting,\nwithout cost to the board, buildings constructed in whole or in part with tax\nrevenues.\n(3) The county board of elections shall notify a local board of education that it intends\nto designate one (1) or more school buildings as voting places no later than\nDecember 1 prior to the election. The county board of elect ions shall specify which\nschool buildings will be used and the expected dates and times of use.\n(4) The county board of elections shall designate as voting places only those places\nwhich are accessible to all eligible voters, including those with physical limitations\nand the elderly.\n(5) The county board of elections shall ensure that each precinct polling place in the\ncounty has immediate access to a telephone within the polling place on the day of\nany election.","path":["KRS Chapter 117"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56442","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:12Z","sha256":"870b5375eb39b83f2153f874fe247d12e05a773a49344faf2d060ccc174c7ae1","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-117.060","next":"us-ky/krs-117.066"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
