{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-117.345","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 117.345","heading":"Cost of elections -- Payment.","body":"(1) The cost of all elections held in any county shall be allowed by the fiscal court or\nlegislative body of any urban-county government, charter county, consolidated local\ngovernment, or unified local government and paid by the county treasurer, except as\notherwise provided by law.\n(2) When the cost of any election has been allowed by the fiscal court or legislative\nbody of any urban -county government, charter county, consolidated local\ngovernment, or unified local government and paid by the county treasurer, within\nsixty (60) days following the date of the election, the county treasurer shall certify a\nstatement of the number of precincts in the county, the date, and kind of election to\nthe State Board of Elections, including an election that was delayed or po stponed in\naccordance with KRS 39A.100. The certification shall be filed within ninety (90)\ndays after the election. Upon receipt of the certification and upon being satisfied as\nto the correctness thereof, the State Board of Elections shall issue its warr ant upon\nthe State Treasurer in favor of the county treasurer for the amount of two hundred\nfifty-five dollars ($255) for each precinct in the county.\n(3) Payments to any county under the provisions of subsection (2) of this section shall\nbe terminated if and whenever it fails to renew a lease, contract, or lease and option\nwith the Finance and Administration Cabinet executed in connection with the\nacquisition of voting systems by the cabinet for the use of the county; and payments\nto any county shall be te rminated whenever the county fails to pay any part of the\nrentals required for any effective period of the lease or if a county board of elections\nfails to provide training to precinct election officers required by KRS 117.187(2).\nAs used in this subsectio n, \"county\" includes urban -county government, charter\ncounty government, consolidated local government, and unified local government.","path":["KRS Chapter 117"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=51677","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:13Z","sha256":"161a6db89cb593f1a29adb6ac4dcd414703512db2bfe701a22424d58caad3087","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-117.343","next":"us-ky/krs-117.350"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
