{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-117a.040","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 117A.040","heading":"Voting precinct and address of overseas voter -- Administrative","body":"regulations.\n(1) In registering to vote, an overseas voter who  is eligible to vote in the\nCommonwealth  of Kentucky shall use and shall be assigned to the voting\nprecinct of the address of the last place of residence of the voter in the\nCommonwealth  of Kentucky, or, in the case of a voter described by KRS\n117A.010(1)(e), the  address  of the  last place of residence in the\nCommonwealth  of Kentucky of the parent or legal guardian of the voter. If that\naddress is no longer a recognized residential address, the voter shall be\nassigned an address for voting purposes.\n(2) The  State Board of Elections shall promulgate administrative regulations\ncovering the procedures for assigning an address for voting purposes for an\noverseas voter whose  last place of residence is no longer a recognized\nresidential address, provided that any regulations promulgated under this\nsection shall specify that the overseas voter's assigned address shall be\nlocated in the same  voting precinct as the overseas voter's last place of\nresidence would have been located if the address were still a recognized\nresidential address.","path":["KRS Chapter 117A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=48515","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:14Z","sha256":"514ed5fe2ba598e44e1b88399e3a5e94576e04a0dcfe68f61b0dffc980d9c773","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-117a.030","next":"us-ky/krs-117a.050"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
