{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-117a.080","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 117A.080","heading":"Transmission of ballot and balloting materials to covered voters --","body":"Electronic transmission.\n(1) For an election described in KRS 117A.020, not later than forty -five (45) days\nbefore the election or, if the forty -fifth day before the election is a weekend or\nholiday, not later than the business day preceding the forty -fifth day, the election\nofficial in each jurisdiction charged with distributing a ballot and balloting materials\nshall transmit a ballot and balloting materials to all covered voters w ho by that date\nsubmit a valid military-overseas ballot application.\n(2) A covered voter who requests that a ballot and balloting materials be sent to the\nvoter by electronic transmission may choose facsimile transmission or the electronic\ntransmission system established under KRS 117A.030(4). The election official in\neach jurisdiction charged with distributing a ballot and balloting materials shall\ntransmit the ballot and balloting materials to the voter using the means of\ntransmission chosen by the voter.\n(3) If a ballot application from a covered voter arrives fewer than forty -five (45) days\nbefore the election, the official charged with distributing a ballot and balloting\nmaterials shall transmit them to the voter not later than three (3) business days a fter\nthe application arrives.","path":["KRS Chapter 117A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=42729","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:14Z","sha256":"8abea294d0bb1dbb8fc08ebb26d1b97ee466f2ca1b7004e119eae6eb495fb42c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-117a.070","next":"us-ky/krs-117a.090"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
