{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-117a.160","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 117A.160","heading":"Mistakes and omissions that do not invalidate documents or ballots --","body":"Notarization or authentication not required.\n(1) If a voter's mistake or omission in the completion of a document under this chapter\ndoes not prevent determining whether a covere d voter is eligible to vote, the\nmistake or omission does not invalidate the document. Failure to satisfy a\nnonsubstantive requirement, such as using paper or envelopes of a specified size or\nweight, does not invalidate a document submitted under this chap ter. In a write -in\nballot authorized by this chapter or in a vote for a write -in candidate on a regular\nballot, if the intention of the voter is discernible under the Commonwealth of\nKentucky's uniform definition of what constitutes a vote, an abbreviation ,\nmisspelling, or other minor variation in the form of the name of a candidate or a\npolitical party shall be accepted as a valid vote.\n(2) Notarization is not required for the execution of a document under this chapter. An\nauthentication, other than the de claration specified in KRS 117A.120 or the\ndeclaration on the federal postcard application and federal write -in absentee ballot,\nis not required for execution of a document under this chapter.
