After the filing\nof the certificate or petition of nomination under KRS 118.365, and not later than 4\np.m. on the second Tuesday in August preceding the regular election for the office\nof Governor, the candidate shall designate his or her running mate by filing with the\nSecretary of State the name and address of a person qualified under the Constitution\nof Kentucky to serve as Lieutenant Governor.\n(2) A slate of candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor shall be  elected jointly\nat a regular election by the casting by each voter of a single vote applicable to both\noffices.
