{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-118.155","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 118.155","heading":"Nomination of candidates serving in Armed Forces.","body":"(1) The provisions of KRS 118.125 shall not apply to any eligible person serving in the\nArmed Forces of the United States while this country is at war. The name of such\nperson shall be printed on the official ballot of his party for an office for which he is\neligible in any primary election when an application has been filed on his behalf by\ntwo (2) reputable electors of the party at whose hands he seeks the nomination.\n(2) Such application shall be accompanied by a statement signed by the proposed\ncandidate authorizing the action of the electors.\n(3) The application and the candidate's statement, herein mentioned, shall be filed in\ngood faith and with the proper officer at the proper time, as provided for other\ncandidates in primary elections.\n(4) The form of s uch application shall be similar to that of the affidavits required of\nelectors in behalf of other candidates as provided in KRS 118.125.\n(5) Before such a successful candidate is given a certificate of nomination, he shall file\nwith the county clerk of th e county in which he resides a statement that during the\ncampaign for the nomination he did not, and while a candidate for the office will\nnot, knowingly violate any election law or any law relating to corrupt and fraudulent\npractice in campaigns or electi ons in this state, and if elected will qualify for the\noffice.","path":["KRS Chapter 118"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=27585","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:15Z","sha256":"fb79fcf76693fc67bb5e38f9d67feda238a3b6226b55569d190038dfabe1773e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-118.150","next":"us-ky/krs-118.160"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
