{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-118.226","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 118.226","heading":"Filling vacancy in candidacy for Lieutenant Governor.","body":"(1) If a vacancy occurs in a candidacy for the office of Lieutenant Governor because of\ndeath, disqualification to hold the office sought, or a severe disabling condition that\narose after the slate formed a campaign committee, the candidate for the office of\nGovernor on that slate may designate a replacement for the vacant candidate.\n(2) The designation of a replacement shall be on forms filed with the Secretary of State,\nbut only following certification to the candidate for the office of Governor by the\nSecretary of State that a vacancy exists for a reason specified in subsection (1) of\nthis section.\n(3) If a replacement candidate for a vacancy in candidacy for Lieutenant Governor is\nmade for a reason specified in subsection (1) of this section after the ballot s are\nprinted for the regular election, notices informing the voters of the change in\ncomposition of the slate shall be posted at each precinct polling place.","path":["KRS Chapter 118"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50326","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:15Z","sha256":"a2eb3acef9cc9509456ae486be07da7f5aa006c139c09585e703c7f3cb1fc86d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-118.225","next":"us-ky/krs-118.227"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
